Kanban board to manage dispatch

Kanban board to manage dispatch

We've added a new method to manage your dispatch tasks that we believe is more intuitive and easier than the original way. You are welcome to continue using the fly-in panel identified by the orange arrow in the screenshot below to manage your non-tour tasks. If you wanted to try the new method to see if it fits well with you, here's how you do it:

Click the toggle identified with the yellow arrow to change the caption from RIGHT to TOP

Once done, you will see a screen similar to below. Click the handle to show the kanban board.

Your screen will now look like below. The kanban board is divided into three panels. At the left, we have tasks that have been added as informed, or staged. Here we would show tasks that have not yet been started. In the center, you will see a couple example tasks that have been started. And to the right, would be tasks that have been completed. At the bottom of the kanban board is a plus icon. You can click the plus icon to add a new NTT task. All tasks begin as informed. Your dispatcher simply drags tasks from left to right using their mouse to indicate when the tasks are started, or completed.

Below we have clicked the plus icon and are in the process of adding a new Code 1 task:

After saving, the task automatically appears in the 'Informed' panel. Below, we have dragged the task to the center, to indicate that the task is started, and the previous tasks that were in the started panel have been dragged to the right, to indicate they have been completed:

Tasks in the informed or started panels can be clicked to edit the information. For example, after starting a task, an officer radios dispatch with important information about a task. A dispatcher simply clicks the task to add the new information, then saves their edits.

Important points:
  1. Completed tasks cannot be edited
  2. Tasks added as informed cannot currently be deleted. We're working on adding this feature
  3. Each dispatcher can use the left fly-in panel for dispatch, or the new top panel kanban dispatch. Whatever they're most comfortable with
  4. After a dispatcher logs out, tasks that the officer placed in the completed panel of the kanban are cleared. This way the new dispatcher can focus only on the tasks they are involved in
