How do I change a key ring ID?

Sometimes you need to change the key ring ID that was setup initially in SOVA for a variety of reasons. One example could be that you've decided to change out some damaged barcode labels, resulting in a new numbering sequence. Fortunately, changing key ring ID's only requires a couple of steps and you should be back up and running with new key ring ID's in just a few minutes.

Follow these steps to change any key ring ID:

  1. Navigate to Equipment > List Equipment, and find a key that is part of the key ring that you wish to change. Make use of the various search features available on that page. Or, simply go from page to page until you find the item you want to edit.
  2. Click the action icon (looks like a gear) in the row for the item you want to edit
  3. Select Edit
  4. Scroll down, and take note of the current Key Ring ID shown in the box.
  5. Click the pencil icon to the right of Key Ring.
  6. The current key rings that have been setup at your property are shown in a popup
  7. Scroll down in the list and find the key ring noted above
  8. Click the blue edit button for the row you wish to edit
  9. Change the current value for Ring scan id. You may want to write down the number that is currently listed there in case you make a mistake and need to revert this change
  10. Click the blue submit button to save your changes
  11. Back at the initial popup entitled "Add Key Ring", click the "X" to close the popup

Congratulations, you have successfully updated your key ring ID.
