POI Listview

POI Listview

The person's of interest (POI) module in SOVA provides a way to accurately and efficiently track "POI's" coming into, or near, your facility or campus. By registering POI's into SOVA and adding encounters with these POI's, you can build a library of potentially dangerous persons in your region and alert others to their presence. You can even collaborate and share information electronically with other businesses in your region, making the POI system a very powerful tool in your security arsenal. Below is a screenshot of the POI Listview screen in SOVA:

Features of the POI listview:
  • Button to add a POI and optionally register an encounter with the POI. Features of the "Add POI" screen will be covered in a separate article
  • Clicking the map button opens a popup showing the locations of all recorded POI encounters overlaid on a Google map. The POI's appear pinned on the map, and clicking the map pins reveals additional information about the POI. The POI's shown on the map can be from your property or from other businesses running the SOVA platform who have chosen to share POI data with you. This is one example of the powerful collaboration features of the POI reporting system built into SOVA.
  • Each POI added to your system is assigned a "Threat Level" by your officers. They choose a number from 1-10, where 1 is low threat and 10 is high threat. An encounter recorded for a POI with a threat level of 5 or higher can trigger notifications to be sent out via email and/or SMS to persons on a distribution list, with details of the encounter. You can set that up by adding names to the "Threat Level" tab of the Communication screen .
  • Library images of the POI. Add up to 12 images for each POI. Images and POI details are viewable in SOVA Mobile to keep your mobile security officers up to date on POI's in the area.
  • Our Watch List feature allows you to setup a watch radius for POI's that you have shared with other businesses in your area. In the event any of your shared partners within your watch radius record an encounter with this POI, you can setup a list of recipients to be notified of this activity.
  • Shows a count of encounters recorded for the POI
  • Clicking the action icon opens a menu allowing you to perform these functions:
  • View - Provides a read-only view of the POI
  • Edit - Allows admins and property users to edit the POI, add names, clothing worn, gang affiliations, add attachments like PDF's from local LE, etc.
  • Delete - Deletes the POI from your screen (data still exists on our servers)
  • Add Encounter - Opens a form allowing you to add a new encounter with the POI
  • View Encounter(s) - Provides a popup showing all past encounters with the selected POI. If you added the POI, you are able to view and edit the encounters. If this is a POI shared with you from another local area business, then you will only be able to view the encounter.
  • Download PDF - Allows downloading a PDF with details of the POI, past encounters, and images to be shared with local businesses, law enforcement, etc. Some know this as a "BOLO" report, i.e. "Be On The Lookout".

UPDATE: By request, we added a way to take quick peeks at persons of interest, by placing your mouse over the Threat Level (TL), you can now get information on the POI without having to open the full record. Check out the video below:
