Scheduling Tasks (web)

Another unique feature of SOVA is the ability to build a list of tasks that occur at any interval and send your team reminders to their mobile devices when these tasks are nearing their expiration time. Here are some examples of tasks that you may wish to setup schedules for:

  • The loading dock should be locked between 2300 and 0530 hours
  • Security should complete an area check of the golf course snack bar by 2100 hours, and again by 0400 hours
  • The fire extinguishers should receive their monthly check on the 15th day of the month
  • The AED should be visually checked daily to ensure it is ready for deployment. Also, a more thorough check to ensure the battery and pads are not expired should be done monthly

Here is how you set those up. First you must have some tasks added for your location. If your tasks list is blank, please search the Knowledge Base for setting up tasks. Below we have our task list, which you can find by clicking "Tasks" then "List Tasks" from the navigation menu. Let's add a schedule to the task "Area Check - Pool" by placing our mouse over the action icon and choosing "Edit":

Below we see the edit screen for the "Area Check - Pool" task. To add a scheduled reminder for this task, click the plus icon:

Let's add a daily schedule of 2100 for this task:

Below you can see we've successfully added a daily schedule for this non-tour task (NTT) by the gear icon present at that row. When your officers sync their devices, they will now be presented with a notification popup to perform an area check of the pool. The notifications will begin at 2000 hours.

The screen below shows an example of the scheduled task popup in SOVA Mobile. There are several tasks shown with different statuses. Learn about setting up scheduled tasks in SOVA Mobile.

NOTE: You are able to set multiple schedules for the same task. For example, maybe you want your security officers to check the beach gazebo every hour of the overnight shift. For this scenario, you would simply set 8 schedules for the same task. Finally, SOVA can be setup to send a report at midnight to a distribution list for any tasks that were not completed at their scheduled time. Search the knowledge base for "Communication" to learn how to set that up.
